The Kuntscher Nail, or K Nail, is one of the classic intramedullary nails used for femoral shaft fracture fixation. Made from durable stainless steel, it provides strong load-bearing support while maintaining alignment. Its cloverleaf cross-section improves stability within the medullary canal. Although largely replaced by newer designs, it remains a reliable option in many trauma centers for straightforward femoral fractures.
